Trophies

The Awards

The club have 4 main awards given to divers at the annual dinner and dance, these include:

	Diver of the Year -or the Mike Earlam Award is awarded by the committee to the diver who has deemed to have given most to the club during the year.
	Novice of the Year -This "torch trophy" is awarded by the committee to the most outstanding novice diver of the year. This is not necessarily the best recruit, so to speak, as it may be awarded to someone who has worked the hardest or has struggled to overcome a particular difficulty.
	Chairman's Award - This award is chosen solely by the Chairman. It is generally awarded for a great service to club.
	Steve Smith Trophy - This trophy is awarded by the club members themselves to anybody in the club for any reason. This trophy was donated to the club by John Sawyer of Diving and Marine, Urmston and was originally the Saw Bones Trophy
